What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose and repair vehicles using diagnostic tools to identify issues and perform necessary repairs, maintenance, and part replacements. Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as needed.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including CVIP inspections. Maintain accurate service records and manage parts procurement.
- Collaborate with technicians, management, and drivers to meet shop priorities and schedules. Follow all safety, environmental, and HR procedures in line with OH&S and inspection standards.
- Keep a clean, safe workspace and communicate effectively with the team. Support apprentice training, suggest training needs, and attend required company programs.
What We’re Looking For:
- Journeyman Technician Certification (Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty or Automotive may be considered with Air Brake Endorsement)
- A CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License or willingness to obtain during probationary period is required
- 2–5 years of related experience, including exposure to working as a Journeyperson Mechanic
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license with an air brake endorsement
- Strong analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent Health & Safety Knowledge, particularly OH&S rules and regulations guidelines, with a keen eye for detail
- Employment is contingent upon receiving a favorable background check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
Bonus Points if You Have:
- Prior experience maintaining transit vehicles or a large fleet is an asset
- Experience Work Order Management Applications is considered an asset
What We Offer:
- $45.50 – $48.50 per/hour based on relevant work experience & certifications

- Mechanical work is performed on BC Transit buses in a secure, well-maintained facility that ensures a clean, organized, and safe environment for our mechanics.
- This role may involve occasional travel, depending on operational requirements.
